The Isora Foundation is committed to partnering with under-resourced communities by supporting well developed and sustainable strategies in the following areas: health; education; economic development; the environment and social justice.

- are based in Minnesota or New Mexico
- support sustainable economic development, environmental and social change, often within grassroots and/or indigenous communities
- attempt to change negative social, economic and cultural barriers through their efforts in education, leadership development and advocacy
- are innovative in using visual/performing arts and social media to empower, inform and organize communities
- enter into partnerships with others, creating new networks for change
- have a culturally appropriate evaluation plan that demonstrates success in achieving their goals
